Florida has passed laws requiring that hunters born after 1996 must complete a hunter education course. However, hunters who have been licensed in another state must take the same course. Registering separately is unnecessary as the state recognizes all programs offered by schools and other organizations. You can take the hunter safety course online or at a local classroom. It is completely free and can be done at your own pace.

Hunter safety courses are mandatory in Florida for those born after June 1, 1975. If they have already completed the online version, they can skip this step. Individuals who would like to take the classroom part of the course can print out their online completion report.
